Longaberger - Apple Dumplings with Kathy Eakle

QUICK AND EASY APPLE DUMPLINGS 2 Granny Smith apples 2 cans crescent rolls (8 per package) 1 ½ sticks of margarine 1 ½ cups of sugar 1 heaping tablespoon cinnamon 1 12 oz. bottle of Sprite 1 Large Low Bowl -- (Your choice of color) Peel, core and slice apples into 8 wedges each (16 wedges total). Wrap one crescent roll around each apple wedge and place in the bottom of Large Low Bowl. Melt margarine in medium size bowl in microwave, add sugar and stir until mixed well (mixture will be thick). Add cinnamon to mixture and stir until mixed well. Coat each "Dumpling" with a serving spoonful of this mixture. If you have any left, just add it in. Pour Sprite over the ENTIRE batch of dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40 to 45 minutes. Should be a nice deep brown. Remove from the oven and let stand for at least 15 minutes -- if you can wait that long!
