While you are waiting on the Wednesday special to arrive...

Looking up at the office
I could not help be to overhear that you are looking for some decorating tips?   Well that may not be you,but have you ever wanted to freshen up your living room?  Put a spin into your office space (it does not have to be in your home)? Curious about where to place a coffee center? Well, so have I.  What I mean is I have things and spaces that are dying to have that special touch of organization too.  First and foremost I represent Longaberger, which has everything that you need to entertain, but I also realize that you have other things that are non-Longaberger product.  When was the last time you decorated?  If you are telling me that it was last year, that is fine, you can still use a little something to make things lively again, but if the last time you decorated was in the 1990's, it is about time pop up a little something to your space.    Obviously, I am not looking at your home, but if you are looking for something to transition into for the holidays, I may be able to help.  Here are some tips that I have heard of over the years that are tried and true to their nature:

*  Get one new piece.  It does not have to be the newest thing from my website.  I often suggest to new customer to me and Longaberger to get something versatile, like a medium Market basket, bread basket, Small or Medium Stowaway Basket, or Small or medium Roundabout Basket.   The reason is you can put just about anything into these baskets, which are considered core baskets.  Some like the Medium Market and Bread baskets have been around since the company got started, and many people love them.   With the medium market basket, I use to take to the library, at the grocery store for small items, it has been a car basket, a basket where I put my common used scrapbooking supplies in, and my mom's basket in my parent's home has been the stuffed toy corral baskets, where grandkids go to get the toys to play with.  They must put them back in the stuffed toy bin when finished. they have never missed a beat except once.  The bread basket has been used as a condiment holder, part of a coffee center, part of a craft center, and so forth.  the newer ones mentioned, like the stowaway  and roundabout baskets are great in the bathroom, kitchen, even for a little gardening.  All it takes for all of them is at at least a protector.

*  Paint.  It is cheap, and you can get more bang for your buck.  Check out the latest color at you local hardware or home center, get a few swatches, and when you get home, stick them to the wall of the room that you are going to paint.  In other words, you see if you can live with the color.  If you can, go back and buy that can of paint.    If you are unsure, get two or three swatches, and place them on different walls.  Choose which one speaks to you.   Do the same with fabric swatches.

* Accent pieces.  Get a pillow or two to match your furniture.  It does not have to be an exact match, just complements your sofa, love seat, chair, or bed.  For bedrooms, everything does not have to match, but they do have things like bed in a bag.  It comes with sheets pillows cases, accent pillows, comforter, shams, curtains, and bed skirt.   If you are fortunate to live by one of the Longaberger at Home Showrooms, there are some bed linen sets that match the decor of the liners.  Just ask.

Well this is it for now.  If you need help with anything, just ask.   Be blessed each and everyday.

Horizon of Hope Luncheon and a new recruit

One of the things I about being a Longaberger consultant is the ability to give back. Yes, I can always do that, but the difference is I am using my commission money on someone than just myself.  Yesterday, I went down to help decorate the Longaberger golf course room where the team would have our annual event.   I have the furthest to drive, but I do not mind it.  It gives me a chance to think and to play music on my radio or Ipad. (I do not have a Cd player, only a cassette tape player.)
Anyway, we were setting up the room, place name tags on bags, stuffing bags, placing tea pots in center and getting the silent auction items in place.  Would you believe we had 5 long tables full of silent auction items.   Different consultants from other direct selling companies donated their stuff, some retired Longaberger products, a couple of gift certificates, and a basket full of Buckeye stuff (Ohio State).  You can read about my donation Here.  After that, some of us stayed to eat dinner (I had the taco salad), and off to our individual homes.
I got up at the crack of dawn, and my mother picked up me and my cousin to go the the Golf course, which is in Nashport, Ohio. I had to be there at 8 am.  People were already coming in for the event, which started out with a Continental breakfast.   There was pink everywhere, and one man stood out. (he was such as trooper).   First we played the purse game.  The object was to see which table can find items in their purse or bag.  The prize was to see who will be the first in line to get our brunch items. My table was next to last.  After eating, the ladies were given the opportunity to look at the items on the silent auction table, buy from a former Cookie Lee Representative, who donated part of her sales total to our total funds raised.  You can also donate to the 50/50 ticket basket (1/2 goes to The American Cancer Society and the other to the person who won for spending money at The Homestead shoppe.  Other donations included buying a chocolate pop (chocolate on a lollipop stick).  Nothing much to tell after that, except one woman spoke what it was like to be a caregiver, and fashion/product show, and the collection of the silent auction prizes.
We all left to either go home or to Homestead to shop.  I went to Homestead to sign up my cousin to be a consultant.   So I am one step closer to being a team lead manger.  I hope all three of people will qualify by the end of the year, then I will have one more to recruit, but I want full team of 6.  All I need is you to complete the picture.  Here is what you get out of this wonderful deal:

Your own free website.  No programming is involved, but you get to personalize it.
50% off for your products for the first 30 days.  After that, you get 20% off for retired products and 25% off for current products.
You have a choice of 4 business kits:  Free (if you are military), $19 (materials only), $49 (Bread basket, 3 packs of coffee, Pizza dough mix, and Woven Traditions mug), and $199 (an item from each of the product lines).
Training
Online tools
The ability to earn incentives such as free product, trips, and cash.
Newsletter services
The ability to use social media
Making new friends that last a lifetime.

Just go to the the link above this page to join me and it will take you straight to that page on my website.  I would love to have you join my team, and work it as much as you want, however you want.

Have a good evening and be blessed everyday.

Its Beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

BERLIN - NOVEMBER 27: Women dressed as angel'...
(Image credit: Getty Images via @daylife)
Know the song?  I know, I am getting a little ahead of myself.  This is my favorite time of year.  I have always loved Christmas.  I have more than one reason to love the holiday, and some of the reasons are:

  1. The preparations.  Now is the time to get ready to decorate. Some people pull out all the decorations, test the lights, buy the tree (which are on sale now), prepare to cook.  If you are looking for new decorations, there are a couple in Longaberger's line to set the mood, such as the new Santa hat basket ($79). The 2012 basket tie-on that can be used more than just for baskets.  ($10)
  2. The parties.  Yes this is the time of year where you can go from party to party, and feel like you never have enough food.  Christmas and new years are two holidays that cannot be missed for when it comes to parties.  If you throw one yourself, you have to make sure there is plenty of food, drinks, and entertainment to go around.  You do not have to go nuts to have a good party, you just have a good party.   The Christmas Collection Drum Baskets ($54 and $74) serves a great purpose for nuts, hold chips, cookies for the kids.  If it is movie night, they hold popcorn and your favorite candies.  The Happy Holidays basket ($10 with a basket purchase; $40 without a basket purchase), holds mints, chocolate kisses, and nuts.
  3. Christmas Eve.  There are some many things you can do before going to bed before the big day.  There are Santa Mugs and Santa luncheon plate for Santa's milk and cookies; the tie-one double as mistletoe to kiss that special some under.
  4. Christmas carols:  I love them all ( except Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer-who's sick idea was that).  Anyway, I especially love the ones about the birth of Christ.
  5. Cookies:  Yes I know they are a food item, and I already mentioned food, but nothing beats a plate of cookies to make this sweet tooth of a gal happy.  My mom and me to this day still take a day where we bake cookies for the family.  My sister is the taster and still frowns every time we ask her to stir something.  Each grandchild gets a little bucket of cookies for their own, and for the first time this year, my youngest nephew gets his very own bucket.  I cannot wait to see his face light up.  I take them plain or with milk or coffee.  Speaking of coffee, the Longaberger Coffee club would make a wonderful holiday gift for the coffee drinker in your life.  They will receive 4 bags of coffee per month (your choice of regular, decaf, or a mix of the two).  The price arrange from $30-$34) per month.  The beans are 100% Arabica beans and processed on Longaberger own private reserve spot in Hawaii.  The taste is truly delicious. If you are not sure if you are not sure if they will like the coffee, and I know they will, you can always try the three pack for $11
I hope this will give you an taste of what I love about this time of the year and why I feel like a child when I think about this holiday.   I also love making holiday cards, which puts a personal touch into the season.  Of course, presents are always nice.
