How does your Garden grow.

There is a nursery rhyme that goes, Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?    Well every year since I became a home consultant, there has been at a least one or two products dedicated to the garden. I love the gardening products being offered this year from Longaberger.  These products are perfect for anyone who have a baby green thumb to a full fledge container garden on a decked out patio.  If you follow my blog, you know that these products have been featured before, but there are also a couple products that have not been mentioned before, but will be available on sale for purchase at Longaberger at Home.  This is a sale, which is available from 12 Noon –Midnight today only.

Basket Planters
A customer was concerned about the care of these planters two weeks ago.  The answers can be found by going to this post.    There are 4 sizes to the planter (6”, 9”, 12”, and 14”) and the uses are as follows:
The 6” planter can be used to start seeds, herbs, and replanted plants that do not grow as much.   In the non-gardening area, think of the planter to hold items such as utensils, paint brushes (the hole at the bottom can allow water to drip out), markers, beauty brushes, and small knives (blade pointed downward).
The 9” planter the same way as the 6” planter with a little more room for the seeds to grow.  If you want to do an elevation display (as in catering), you can place the planter on a flat tray or if it stands alone, place a small baggie with ice on the inside, and then place a small bowl of dip that fits over the top of the planter.   The ice will keep the dip nice and cool.
The 12” and 14” planters are great for container gardening.   Container gardening is a must if you live in a place where you cannot have big garden.   You can place vegetables such as tomato, eggplant, squash, and zucchini plants, as well as onions in the planters.  Be careful not to overcrowd the plants.
For the 14” planter, you can place rolled plans for an engineer’s office, or wallpaper rolls inside to organize.

Longaberger At Home

Did you know that Longaberger at Home always carried products that retired from the current line?    The flagship store is located in Frazeysburg, Ohio, which sits about an hour east of Columbus, and is a wonderful place to go on a shopping spree.   Other LAH stores have been opening since 2009 across the country, and is a great way to get the products that you were not able to get while in the catalogs.   The retired products is a great way to save money while getting a travel mug for example, at 1/2 price.

However, this is not have to be a substitute for the home consultant, who can give you the personal attention you need while looking at and ordering current products.  Most times, when you host a home party, the consultant can and will show you how to get more through host dollars and product for ½ price.  Benefits start with a $150 party, which is 1 half off selection (your choice), but for a $1000 + party the savings can be as much as 3 half selections, $200 in Host dollars, and free shipping, in addition to exclusive specials just for the host.  This is just a start to what you can earn as a Host to a Longaberger party.   If you have any questions or if you want to host a party (including catalog and online), you can contact me at 614-236-4970, email me at plogan@columbus.rr.com, write on my Facebook page, Tweet me, or text me at 614-266-1581.

How about a Little Dinner and Dessert?

I LOVE this casserole dish! I am also so excited that it is back for one day. You can place hot or cold dips in, the dish is microwave safe, and it is perfect for a serving of 2, as in wedding. Spring is all about Easter and weddings, and the premier to Summer. As a general rule, Don't forget about dessert. Here is a little tip for all non-bakers: Get a frozen tart, Take it out of its tin, and place it in the pie tart dish. Bake according to the directions of the box. Once completed, you are ready to serve. Extra added tip: sprinkle a little sugar on the frozen tart prior to baking. Visit www.longaberger.com/patricialogan
 from 12 noon-Midnight today only.

Answer of the Week: Basket Planters (On the Veranda)

I had a question on Pinterest two days ago about this basket planter collection:

And the person was concern about weather protection:

I am going to tell you all what it says on the card you get with every product you purchase from Longaberger.  on the card, it tells you a little bit about the product, and how to take care of it.

Caring for Your Collection:

This collection can be used both indoors and outdoors, and is designed for durability with polyethylene weaving and heavy duty metal frames that have two premium metal coatings to guard against scratches and rusting.

The Collection is:

  • Weather resistant
  • Rust resistant
  • Scratch resistant
  • Fade resistant

To best care for your pieces, bring indoors during freezing conditions.   Clean with mild soap and damp cloth.  Dry thoroughly.  Do not use products containing harsh chemicals or abrasives cleaners as they can cause damage.

If you are on the fence of purchasing these planters because of conditions brought on by the outdoors, you can always use them as strictly indoors planters, but know that you can use them outdoors as well.
Don't just use them as just planters.   This is just a guideline for what you can use them for.   I tell customers that all the time.  Do keep in mind that there is a drainage hole at the bottom of each planter, so if you plan on using the 6" planter as a pen and pencil holder in the office, you might want to put something at the bottom to keep them from slipping through.

This collection comes in four sizes:  6", 9", 12" and 14".  No protector or liner, because of the intended use. There is a matching tray that comes with the collection in case you might want to serve meals outside as well.  this does come with a protector, but the tray is made with the same materials as the planter collection.   I will say that these are perfect for a container garden (12" and 14"), while the smaller two (6" and 9") would be perfect for single plants or if you want to start a seed off.

If you have a question about these and other Longaberger products, please email me at plogan@columbus.rr.com  I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a blessed day.
